 At the signing ceremony
The two sides' tourism cooperation has reaped large fruits over the past time as the number of Vietnamese tourists to RoK increased by 54 percent in 2016, while the number of RoK visitors to Vietnam increased by 30 percent in the same period. The signing of the MoU aims to further tourism links between the two countries in the time to come.

From  2017, the RoK tourism sector will feature nine themes, namely tourism through Korean artistic performance types; traditional markets; cultural festivals; sport events; international events; special experiences; Korean dishes; film studios; and the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

The RoK will also publish the “Michelin Guide Seoul” book  introducing 36 best restaurants in the country as a guide for foreign visitors and commercial travelers to find the best restaurants and hotels in Seoul. In addition, to promote sport tourism, the country will introduce the U20 World Cup with the first-ever participation of a Vietnamese team. Tourism promotion through traditional artistic performances has begun since 2000, and attracted 17 million international visitors to the country.

Located in eastern RoK, Gyeongbuk is one of the largest provinces of the country. The province has five World Heritage Sites recognized by the UNESCO and a good traffic system that is connected to major cities in RoK. The RoK Government has chosen Gyeongbuk to be one of the country’s seven tourism zones.
