The President congratulated Myanmar on recent socio-economic progress with a belief in the country’s success in its national reconciliation process and position improvement in the regional and global stages.
He took note of the new development in Vietnam-Myanmar ties, particularly after the state visit made by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Myanmar late August.
He said during the visit, bilateral relations were lifted to comprehensive cooperative partnership and several agreements were signed.
Aung San Suu Kyi stated Myanmar pays heed to the development of comprehensive cooperative partnership with Vietnam and is committed to creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors in Myanmar.
Both sides agreed to increase people-to-people exchanges and exchange visits among the two countries’ delegations at all levels.
Agreements were also reached in facilitating the formation of cooperation mechanisms in agro-forestry-fishery and transport, and in supporting each other at regional and international forums, particularly in sub-regional cooperation mechanisms such as the ASEAN, Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), and Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam-Myanmar (CLMV) and East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC).
