Linh emphasized that Vietnam and the RoK have been badly affected by the pandemic; therefore, the association wants to show solidarity with Vietnam in the response through this program. He hoped that it will help boost the relationship between the two peoples and reinforce the two nations’ friendship and closeness as well.
On May 4 and 5, a delegation of the association visited and presented gifts to Lai Chau provincial People’s Committee and Border Guard Command. The gifts including 5,000 medical face masks, 300 antibacterial cloth masks, 800 bottles of hand sanitizer gel, 200 cans of antiseptic liquid, and other necessities will be then given to border guards at border posts and COVID-19 checkpoints throughout the province.
The delegation also gifted an inter-sector checkpoint in Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province, which was established when the first COVID-19 case was detected in Vietnam. The checkpoint’s personnel have worked round the clock to check travelers’ body temperatures.
While visiting teachers and students of Sa Pa Semi-boarding Secondary School in Sa Pa district, Lao Cai province, the delegation gave them medical supplies including 2,300 face masks and 150 hand sanitizer gel bottles. All of the 486 students at the school are ethnic minorities and the school reopened on May 4.
