Japanese cherry trees presented to Bac Ninh city
PANO - A ceremony was held at Nguyen Van Cu Park in Bac Ninh city in the province of same name on March 13 to receive and plant cherry trees presented as gifts by the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region.
Present at the ceremony were Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh, Japanese member of parliament Kaneko, Minister at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam Asaduma Sinnichi, and other representatives of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region and Bac Ninh province.
A representative of the association handed over and introduced techniques to plant 200 cherry trees.
The Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Chukyo region started the cherry project in 2012 and since then the trees have been grown in many Vietnamese provinces and cities.
The cherry trees will become a bridge connecting the Japanese and Vietnamese people, contributing to popularizing Japan’s images, culture and people to Bac Ninh residents and enhancing mutual understanding between peoples of the two countries, affirmed Mr. Asaduma Sinnichi.
