The awarding of the insignia to Mr. Michael Croft is to recognize his great contributions to developing the partnership between Vietnam and UNESCO and assisting the preservation and promotion of Vietnam’s cultural values.

During his nearly four-year tenure as UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam, Mr. Michael Croft has worked closely with Vietnam’s UNESCO Committee and relevant ministries, departments and sectors to boost cooperation between Vietnam and UNESCO in all UNESCO-specialized areas, including education, culture, natural and social sciences, information and communication.
