HCM City boosts cooperation with Japanese localities
A delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, on April 5 started a working visit to Japan to boost cooperation with the Japanese localities.
The nine-day visit, which takes the delegation through Aichi, Nagano and Hokkaido prefectures, aims to reaffirm the city’s commitment to develop relations with Japanese localities in a more practical manner.

The city hopes to boost cooperation with Aichi prefecture in economics, trading, investment, culture and people-to-people diplomacy, thus luring more investment from the Japanese industrial hub to Ho Chi Minh City, particularly in transport, storage, logistics and high-tech industrial production.
In Nagano prefecture, the delegation wants to learn the locality’s experience in addressing environmental issues, water pollution and protecting water resources.
During their stay in Hokkaido prefecture, they will visit local smart-agriculture models and explore cooperation opportunities in hi-tech agriculture, as well as promoting tourism development and trade exchanges between HCM City and Hokkaido.
