Both sides expressed their delight at the positive development of the bilateral relationship over the past time, particularly the regular high-level exchanges and meetings, while cooperation in economy, trade and investment has been deepened and served as the core and driving force of the ties.

Two-way trade reached USD 123 billion last year. The U.S. became Vietnam's first export market with turnover of over USD 100 billion while Vietnam was the 8th largest trade partner of the U.S.

Practical results have been seen in cooperation in national defense - security, education and training, science - technology, energy transition and response to climate change.

Cooperation in overcoming war consequences is a bright spot in the bilateral relationship, making important contribution to the process of reconciliation and trust building between the two countries, opening up new cooperation opportunities in other important areas. The two sides have been working together more and more effectively within multilateral frameworks and in addressing regional and global issues.

Highlighting the importance of 2023 - the year that marks the 10th founding anniversary of the Vietnam - U.S. comprehensive partnership, the two officials vowed to work closely together to thoroughly prepare for the exchange of delegations and all-level meetings in the near future, contributing to promoting the bilateral relationship in various areas, thus bringing practical benefits to the two nations and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
