VNPT and Da Nang city cooperate in developing smart city
PANO - The Da Nang municipal People’s Committee and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on August 6 inked an agreement to develop a smart Da Nang city in the 2018-2020 period.
Accordingly, VNPT and the local authorities will promote cooperation in developing a smart Da Nang city with the application of the most advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, Big Data… in traffic, public security, travel, natural resources, agriculture, forestry and fishery.

They also agreed to continue exploiting telecommunications – information technology service systems which VNPT has developed in the 2014-2018 period, especially systems helping the municipal Party Committee and People’s Committee direct and manage their subordinate agencies and units.
In addition, VNPT will assist the local authorities in using current infrastructure to establish information systems for the construction of a smart city.
Also, the two sides will allocate resources for research and development of smart system applications in new projects different from the ones the city has been implementing.
