Vietnam ranks second among 23 countries and territories in Asia (excluding Japan) which have the lowest cost of living, just after Laos, according to the survey of the Asian Development Bank.

Other countries with an ‘easy life’ are Iran, Cambodia, Nepal, Pakistan, India and Mongolia. Countries with extremely expensive living costs are Fiji, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan and Brunei while China, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines are areas with average living cost.

Brunei, Singapore, Macau, Taiwan and especially Hong Kong are taking the lead in purchasing power – even 24 times higher than the average figure of the region.
