Vietnam Airlines earns nearly VND 2.5 trillion
PANO - The Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) on January 2nd announced that its profit last year reached nearly VND 2.5 trillion.
Noticeably, the corporation and its affiliates earned more than VND 76,000 billion of totally combined turnover, an over 10 percent increase, and about VND 2,500 billion of pre-tax combined turnover, up by 140 percent against 2015.

The corporation alone reached a turnover of VND 59,100 billion and a pretax turnover of about VND 1,600 billion, and contributed to the State budget nearly VND 4,900 billion, up by nearly 11 percent in comparison to 2015.
Last year, the airlines operated more than 133,000 safe flights; transported 20.6 millions of passengers, an increase of 18.7 percent compared to 2015, and 264,000 tons of goods, 10 percent higher than the set target.
Also last year, it received and put in use ten Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and six Airbus A350-900 XWBs.
This year, the airlines will continue concentrating on ensuring absolute safety and security for passengers and goods; providing best services to passengers during the upcoming Tet holiday, reorganizing its company structure and types of aircraft under the approved plans; upholding its four-star quality and meeting 90 percent of Skytrax’s 4-5 airlines rating criteria; and closely coordinating with Jetstar Pacific, Cambodia Angkor Air and Vietnam Air Services Company to promote competitiveness of its products, resources and trademark as well as diversifying services to meet a growing demand of passengers.
