The Piaggio Group, on April 6th, started the construction of its second plant in Binh Xuyen Industrial Park, Vinh Phuc province.

This structure will launch Piaggio Group’s second investment stage in Vietnam.

The plant, built on an area of 20,000 s.q.m and located next to the first one, will be equipped with the most advanced production lines and technologies.

The plant is expected to be operational in June 2012 to increase Piaggio’s production from 100,000 to 300,000 and its staff and workers in Vietnam to 1,000 staff.

The Piaggio Group also plans to expand and upgrade its 26,000 s.q.m workshop in order to build a Research and Development Centre with an aim of developing new designs to meet growing demands of Asian consumers.

This year, Piaggio Vietnam will introduce its second product labelled Piaggio-Zip 100.

According to Mr. Costantino Sambuy, CEO of Piaggio Vietnam and Vice-CEO in Asia-Pacific, Made-in-Vietnam products will be made public in various countries, including Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea and Australia this year.
