Vietnam
will surpass India and Mexico to become the second largest exporter of textile-garment products to the US market after China this year, according to the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham)in Vietnam.

AmCham said thatVietnam’s textile-garment export turnover to the U.S has enjoyed an impressive growth rate in 2008, with US$5 billion so far, an increase of US $400 million in comparison to the previous year. In particular, Vietnam’s textile-garment products exported to the U.S saw an increase of 22% during the first nine months of 2008.

The U.S currently accounts for 58% of the total turnover of Vietnamese textile-garment products exported to foreign markets.
