Reference exchange rate continues to go up
The daily reference exchange rate for May 17 went up another VND 16 to VND 22,584 per USD.
This is the second consecutive day the State Bank of Vietnam adjusted the daily reference exchange up.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is VND 23,261 per USD and the floor rate VND 21,907 per USD.
The opening hour rates listed at commercial banks continued to stay unchanged from the previous day.
Vietcombank and BIDV kept their buying rate at VND 22,735 per USD and the selling rate at VND 22,805 per USD.
Techcombank maintained the buying rate at VND 22,715 per USD and the selling rate at VND 22,815 per USD.
This week the daily reference exchange rate went down for the first two days but the trend was reversed on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, commercial banks kept their rates unchanged from the beginning of the week.
