Panasonic Vietnam Co. Ltd. will expand its business into Vietnam in the upcoming years, said Shinichi Wakita, the company’s CEO, at a press conference held on September 8th.
Accordingly, in the third quarter of this year, the Panasonic Vietnam will build a new factory in the Thang Long-Hanoi Industrial Park to produce multi-layer resin boards called ALIVH (Any Layer Interstitial Via Hole) for smart phone industry. It is expected to be put into operation by August 2012.
Besides, the company also decided to expand capacity of its fridge factory in the Thang Long-Hanoi Zone which was built in 2003. By 2015, the plant will double its capacity, from 400,000 to 800,000 units per year, against 2011.
In 2012, Asia’s largest industrial washer factory will be unveiled in the Thang Long 2 Industrial Zone in Hung Yen Province with an expected capacity of 700,000 units per year by 2015.
In addition, the company will also set up a centre and a factory in Hung Yen to do research and develop household electrical appliances to create jobs for more than 1,000 local workers.
