HVS lays keels to build 3 vessels at the same time

Hyundai Vinashin (HVS) Shipyard, a member company of Vinashin, recently held a ceremony in Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa to lay keels to build 3 large cargo vessels at the same time.
The first vessel coded S059 with capacity of 60,000 tones is to be built for Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., Ltd, South Korea, and it is expected to be launched in November 2011 and handed over to the owner in January 2012.
The second, S046, with capacity of 56,000 tones is the first one in a contract that HVS signed with Geden Lines, Turkey. It will also be handed over to the owner in January 2012.
The last one is the fourth of a series of cargo ships ordered by HiGold 22 International S.A Hi-Invest, South Korea and is expected to be handed over to the owner in February 2012.
Recently, HVS has improved its capacity to build cargo vessels. According to the company, it has been investing more than US$ 35 million to upgrade the shipyard and install modern machinery to meet an increasing demand of shipbuilding.
