Holcim Cement Ltd. Company Vietnam has just won a loan of US$ 18 million from Standard Chartered Vietnam to fund a power project in Kien Giang.
The power project will be built next to its Hon Chong cement plant in the southern province.
According to both parties, the credit will expire in four years’ time.
According to Holcim Vietnam, the generator will make use of the energy emitted from the cement plant.
The building of the power plant is aimed to save its energy costs and remarkably reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses, leaders of the company affirmed.
According to its plan and estimates, the power plant will become operational in August 2012 and can generate some 44 million kWh and eliminate 25,300 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
