The expo is scheduled to take place from November 3-7 at Lao-ITECC Exhibition Center in Vientiane, Laos, attracting 70-90 military and civilian enterprises and units. The expo has two areas for exhibition and fair. The exhibition area will showcase images of the traditional friendship, special solidarity between the states, peoples, and militaries of Vietnam and Laos, typical images and exhibits on the Vietnam People’s Army in production, economic-building, and national development coupled with consolidating defense and security posture. Military enterprises and units’ advanced technological application products and services and other typical technological products serving national defense and daily life will be displayed as well. Meanwhile, the fair area will introduce quality and reputable products in textiles, footwear, agro-forestry-fisheries, handicrafts, processed foods, electrical-electronics, building materials, agriculture, to name but a few.
The expo aims to create conditions for both countries’ enterprises, especially those in the military to promote their advantages to expand market to Laos, seek partnership, technology transfer opportunities, and export chances with potential partners and large trade groups. These will help popularize brands and products of Vietnamese military enterprises among Lao peers in particular and foreign organizations, groups, enterprises in general.
The organizers hope that the expo will help consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship, and close-knit bond between the two states, peoples, and militaries, thereby enhancing the bilateral defense ties, cementing the strategic trust between Vietnam and neighboring countries, raising the position and prestige of Vietnam and its military in the international arena.
Addressing the meeting, General Tan highly appreciated great efforts of the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of National Defense, relevant agencies and units, and the steering board of the expo.
Noting that the opening of the expo is nearing, General Tan urged relevant agencies and units, participating enterprises to closely work with the Lao peers to complete the preparation to ensure the expo a success.
The plan to organize this expo was approved by the Ministry of National Defense, resulting in the establishment of the organizing panel of the expo with General Tan as its head, Director of the Department of Economic Affairs Major General Tran Dinh Thang as permanent deputy head.
