The gold medal came in the mixed men’s and women’s C4 event, where four Vietnamese paddlers – Pham Hong Quan, Bui Thi Yen, Ma Thi Thuy, and Hien Nam – outperformed strong competitors from China and Kazakhstan to claim a decisive victory. This triumph not only demonstrates the exceptional progress of Vietnamese canoeing but has earned respect across Asia.

Meanwhile, in the women's C2 1,000m event, the duo of Nguyen Thi Huong and Nguyen Hong Thai displayed remarkable determination, trailing only hosts China to win a silver medal.

Diep Thi Huong shined in the women's C1 500m event, claiming another silver medal by finishing behind China's competitor and ahead of Kazakhstan's athlete.

The third silver medal for Vietnam was earned by Diep Thi Huong and Nguyen Thi Huong in the C2 500m event, while the fourth silver came from Nguyen Hong Thai in the C1 500m competition.

Nguyen Thi Huong and Diep Thi Huong brought home a bronze medal in the C2 200m race.

These impressive results reflect Vietnam's strategic investment and sound development approach in canoeing. They serve as a crucial stepping stone towards larger competitions such as the Asian Games and Olympic Games.

The team, including five coaches and 20 athletes, engaged in the championship held in Nanchang, China, from May 5 to 10.
