Vietnam enters quarter-finals at women’s futsal tourney
Vietnam’s women futsal team advanced to the quarter-finals of the Asian Football Confederation Women’s Futsal Championship 2018 in Thailand, after defeating Malaysia 3-1 in a match on May 6.
Do Thi Nguyen opened the score at the 17th minute while Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang scored two goals at the 18th and 38th minute, respectively.

Malaysia managed to score one goal at the 18th minute attributed to Zurain Kamarudin.
With this victory, Vietnam topped the Group B with three straight wins. The team will face Indonesia, the runner-up of Group A in the quarter-finals on May 9. It is the first time that the Vietnam team has entered this far in the Asian event.
The tournament is underway in Bangkok from May 2 to May 12.
