Over 60 rowers compete at Huong River Paddle Festival
PANO - More than 60 paddlers have competed in a SUP (Stand up paddle boarding) competition on the Huong (Perfume) River in Hue city.
The professional competition, co-hosted by the Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Culture and Sports Department and Umove Co., Ltd., has been organized for the first time in Vietnam.

Rower Le Khac Chau Long from Ho Chi Minh City finished first in the men’s 10km at 1h16’20’’ while Pham Thi Hoa from the West Lake Rowing Club won the first prize in the women’s 10km at 1h45’30’’. In the children’s 1km category, Albert James Pearce from Hanoi was the first to cross the finish line.
SUP, a popular kind of surfing, entered Vietnam three or four years ago. In this sport, players stand on their boards and use paddles to propel themselves on the water surface.
