PANO - The 2015 National Youth Chess Tournament was kick-started on August 16th in the Ben Tre city by Ben Tre Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in association with the National Chess Federation of Vietnam.

During the week-long tourney, 371 players, including 120 women, from 28 units nationwide will compete in two categories of standard and blitz chess.

The first prize winners of each age group in the standard chess will be nominated to participate in the 2016 Asian Youth Chess Championships.

According to Nguyen Truc Linh, Coach of the Ben Tre team, this annual tourney is a good opportunity for young players to gain more experience and for teams to exchange training experience. It also aims to find more outstanding players for further training to compete in the international arena.
