Vietnamese traditional long dress show held in Hanoi
PANO – The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, in association with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, held a program, themed “The Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dresses) – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage,” on June 28 at the National Special Relic of the Temple of Literature.
At the program, 60 Vietnamese and foreign models staged 21 collections of famous Vietnamese fashion designers, including Nguyen Thuy, Vu Tran Duc Hai, Hung Viet, and Minh Minh. Images of the country’s UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage elements, namely Ha Long Bay, Giong Festival in Phu Dong and Soc temples, Trang An complex, and Hung king worshiping rituals, among others, were printed on over 1,000 Vietnamese traditional long dresses.

The event also attracted the participation of 100 students from the Women’s Academy, 50 children, and foreign artists who are living in Hanoi.
Talking about the show, fashion designer Minh Hanh said that the program held in a historical place in Hanoi contributes to educating young generations about the traditions of the nation.
