Representatives of the 10 ASEAN countries, including Viet Nam, and three dialogue partners, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea, have met in Beijing for the first Forum of Asian Fine Art Museum Directors.

The forum, held within the framework of the ASEAN Cultural Week from Aug. 31-Sept.9, was aimed at boosting ties among art museums in the region, particularly ASEAN countries and its three dialogue partners.

Participants at the forum exchanged views on contemporary fine arts as well as, research, preservation and introducing works at art museums in Asia.

Director of the Viet Nam Fine Art Museum Truong Quoc Binh presented Viet Nam's wish to cooperate in organising specialised exhibitions in the region.

Viet Nam asked China to cooperate in the preservation of silk paintings.
