Vietnam’s U19 national football squad will replace Iran’s U21 team to compete in the International U21 Football Tournament in the southern province of Binh Duong from October 9-18.

According to the official announcement of the Iran Football Federation, the Iranians are busy competing in their ongoing National Football Championships and will be unavailable at the tournament as planned.

The event will give the squad ample practice to prepare for the qualifying round of the U19 Asian Football Championships.

The tournament will involve six teams including China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam’s U19 and U21 team.

The winners will receive a cash prize of US$7,000. The runner-up will receive US$5,000 and US$3,000, respectively.
