Spring festival kicks off in Kon Tum
PANO – The Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee, in association with the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, kicked off the Spring Festival on January 31 (the 4th of the first lunar month) to welcome the Year of the Rooster.
The three-day festival features cultural heritage performances, including lion and dragon dances; traditional musical performances of the Ba Na ethnic minority group; the fan dancing of the Tay and Nung ethnic minority groups; swinging; Di cau khi (crossing a footbridge), climbing a greasy pole, to name but a few.
Additionally, the festival draws the participation of artists performing other folk games like Nan To he (knead colored dough into children’s toy), water puppet, and traditional dug-out canoe racing of the Ba Na ethnic minority group.
