Fourth Vietnam Book Day: thousands of books to be displayed
PANO – The Ministry of Information and Communications held a press conference on March 30 in Hanoi to introduce the Fourth Vietnam Book Day to be held from April 6 - 10 at Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi.
The event is to celebrate the 90
th anniversary of the debut of the book “Revolutionary Path”, the first publication in Vietnamese printed by Vietnamese printing workers. This is the work that points out the right revolutionary path for the nation, marking an important milestone in the establishment and development of the revolutionary publishing sector. The book was published in late April 90 years ago, which served as the foundation for the Prime Minister to choose April 21 as the Vietnam Book Day.
Around 100 booths from 80 publishing houses nationwide, displaying nearly 40,000 book titles in different areas (politics, law, economics, science, technology, etc.), will join the Fourth Vietnam Book Day this year.
There will be around 20 events held within the framework of the Vietnam Book Day, including talks, book introduction… The booths will also hold interesting activities such as contests, lot drawing games. Discounts and other activities in tribute to readers will be offered.
The Fourth Vietnam Book Day will make an attractive space in the capital city for readers and book lovers. The event will help spreading cultural values via promoting book reading habit.
