Flower streets opened in Southern localities
PANO - On Feb. 12, the Can Tho municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism opened a flower street themed “Can Tho welcoming Spring” in celebration of Tet (Lunar New Year Festival).
The flower street stretches 300 meters along the two parallel streets of Vo Van Tan and Nguyen Thai Hoc in Ninh Kieu district. It consists of four major themes, namely Uncle Ho and the country’s Spring, Tay Do and new buildings, Traditional Tet and Tet on remote islands.

The flower street will last till Feb. 20 (January 5 in Lunar Calendar).
* One day earlier, a similar flower street themed “Bien Hoa - 320 years of identities and development” was opened in Nguyen Van Tri street, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.
The 600-meter-long street features six major sections and 26 sub-sections, including sections in display of Chung cakes and a stream of flowers. The flower street costs over VND 6 billion, including 40 per cent from the local budget and the remainder from individuals and social groups.
It will run until Feb. 21 (January 6 in Lunar Calendar).
