Visitors to the central coastal city of Da Nang will have the chance to contemplate the pristine beauty of pink and white cherry blossom when attending the first Hanami festival held at Asia Park in the city on April 9-10.

The festival features a wide range of activities of a traditional Hanami festival, which takes place annually in Japan in April, alongside Japanese tea art, calligraphy and traditional Yosakoi dance.

There is also a cosplay or Japanese Anime/Manga fantasy costume show, booths introducing Japanese cuisine and kimono clothing, and exhibiting areas with more than 3,000 Japanese fine art products.

In addition, a dragon lake representing Bushido soul and a Momo coffee restaurant built in the shinden-zukyri architectural style origionally for Japanese aristocrats will also feature at the festival.

The Hanami festival is expected to become an annual event in Da Nang to introduce Japanese culture to local residents and visitors. The festival is part of the activities organised by Asia Park to popularise the traditional and cultural values of Asian countries, aiming to bring outstanding tourism products to visitors.
