The opening ceremony saw the presence of former State President Truong Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and Head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Party Central Committee Truong Thi Mai, among others.

Delivering a speech, NA Chairwoman Ngan noted that the biannual festival is a favorite major event of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, adding that it provides an opportunity for local businesses in the horticulture and agriculture sectors to meet with their peers from other provinces and for the tourism industry to emphasize the local uniqueness among visitors.

As scheduled, 15 main programs will be launched during the five-day festival including a fashion show, an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) fashion week, art performances, a fresh vegetable fair, and a “Silk-Tea” night.

The highlight of the festival is a floral arrangement space, made by flower growers  and artisans from the Da Lat Flower Association, in various areas of the city, such as around Xuan Huong lake, Le Dai Hanh florist street, Ong Dao bridge, Tran Hung Dao Park, and near tourist resorts.

A series of workshops will be held within the framework of the festival to promote investment in Lam Dong province, to discuss Da Lat city’s ongoing development planning, and to develop local tea and silk businesses.
