Bat Trang Ceramic Village tells its history
PANO – Bat Trang Ceramic, from the past and at present, will be introduced at the exhibition entitled “Bat Trang Ceramic-Traditional and Modern” to open on October 5th at Bat Trang Village, Bat Trang Commune, Gia Lam District, Hanoi.

Addressing a press conference held by the Hanoi Committee for Propaganda and Education in Hanoi recently, Do Van Thinh, Head of the Culture-Information Office of Gia Lam District, said the exhibition was to help viewers understand the formation and the development of the trade village in the 14th and 15th centuries as well as the Bat Trang Ceramic in the past and at present.
The sophisticated exhibits demonstrate the cultural and artistic values and the skills of the village’s artisans.
Ceramic products have been created from the unique combination of soul, creativeness and talent of Bat Trang villagers from different generations.
In each category under the theme “Legend of Ceramic”, “Flower of the Earth”, “Integration” and “Pervasion”, viewers will find out more about the production process from the choice of earth, preparations, pattern creation, drying, drawing and enameling.
Several traditional ceramic villages will join the exhibition as well.
Notably, participants will have the chance to make their own products and bring home as souvenirs.
