PANO - The fourth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) will take place from November 1 to 5 in Hanoi, announced the Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism in a press conference on September 15.

Themed “Cinema-Integration and Sustainable Development”, the festival will honor cinematographic works of high artistic and humane values, and encourage new cinematographic talents.

The festival will feature about 550 films including more than 300 feature films and more than 200 short films from over 40 countries and territories.

Works of Vietnam’s filmmakers will be introduced in all the festival's categories.

The highest award of the festival worth USD 5,000 will be presented to the best feature film. Additionally, the festival also honors other cinematographic works with awards for the best short film, best feature film director, best actors and actresses in leading roles, best film on urban topics and others.

In the framework of the festival, a film project campus, workshops, conferences and exhibitions will be organized.

Films to the festival will be screened free of charge in a number of cinemas in Hanoi. The first film to be shown is scheduled on the afternoon of November 1 at the National Cinema Center.
