Son emphasized that over the past nearly 4 years, the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos has enjoyed new developments. The two countries have boosted exchanges of delegations and contacts at all levels, particularly high level. Notably, the two nations’ ties in terms of politics, foreign affairs, economy-trade, defense-security, science-technology, culture, education, and people-to-people exchange have continued to develop in an effective and substantive manner.
According to the VUFO chief, last year, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vietnam - Laos diplomatic relations (1962 - 2022); 45th anniversary of the signing of the two countries’ Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (1977 - 2022), VUFO closely worked with the Lao Embassy, and the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam friendship associations to organize a number of meaningful activities. He took the fifth Vietnam - Laos People Friendship Festival in the Vietnamese province of Quang Tri, the “Keepsakes tell stories” contest which was part of the special communication program “60 Years of Vietnam - Laos Friendship: Sharing Truong Son Mountain Range” as highlights. Son added that in the contest, many touching stories about the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos were told.

The Vietnamese official attributed the aforementioned outcomes to the Lao diplomat’s utmost efforts and enthusiasm.
For his part, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang expressed his delight at the intensive development in the two countries’ special solidarity, practically benefiting their peoples.
The ambassador said that he always considers Vietnam his second home. He expressed thanks to VUFO, other Vietnam’s authorized agencies and partners for their effective support and cooperation. He stressed that in any positions, he will continue to do his utmost to nurture the special bonds of the two countries.
