Vietnamese and Lao border localities twinned
PANO – Huoi Poc village of Nam Can commune in Ky Son district, Nghe An province has just twinned with Tham Pong village of Nong Het Tay cluster of villages in Nong Het district, the Lao province of Xiengkhuang.p
They are the 20th twinned pair of localities along the shared borderline between the Vietnamese province of Nghe An and the Lao provinces of Xiengkhuang, Bolykhamxay, and Houaphan.
At the twinning ceremony, chiefs of the two localities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreed on the collaboration in the time to come, following the foreign policies of the two Parties and the two States as well as the agreements on border issues signed by the two countries.

Accordingly, the two villages’ relevant forces will actively update information and mobilize locals to protect the borderline, landmarks, and other facilities in the border area. Also, they will regularly exchange information and collaborate to fight against illegal entry and border crimes, drug trafficking, and other law violations.
In addition, the two localities pledged to support each other in developing socio-economy, promoting cultural values, and improving locals’ living conditions.
