As the only political party and the ruling party in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, since its inception on March 22, 1955 and through 11 congresses, the LPRP has continuously developed in both scope and scale. Under the sound leadership of the LPRP, the Lao people bravely fought, successfully struggled for national liberation, giving birth to the Lao People's Democratic Republic on December 2, 1975, opening up an era in which the Lao people have truly become masters of their own destiny, and of a country of independence and freedom.

From that great victory, over the past nearly half-century, and especially since the launch of the renovation process in 1986, the LPRP has led the Lao people to promote their heroic traditions, weather all difficulties and challenges, build and develop the country, gaining numerous great and comprehensive achievements, and creating a new face for the Lao People's Democratic Republic as it is today.
These proud achievements have affirmed the right and creative line of the LPRP, a steadfast revolutionary party which is steadfast in the face of all difficulties and challenges, wholeheartedly strives for the goal of the independence and prosperity of the nation, the happiness of the people, and for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.
As close neighbors, Vietnam and Laos have had time-tested solidarity and a close-knit bond. It can be said that in the world, there are few bilateral relationships as deep, beautiful and enduring as the relations between Vietnam and Laos. Both nations have together built a great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, creating a miraculous spiritual and material strength for their people to stand side-by-side, share the joys and sorrows, and overcome countless difficulties and challenges.
Going through fierce challenges of war and years of hardship during the renewal process and international integration, the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos has become a natural way of life, an objective law, a vital factor, an invaluable common asset, a foundation for the two countries to bring into full play in the future historical periods. Every achievement of the two countries' revolutions has been closely linked to the fine developments of the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity.
The Party, State and people of Vietnam are always proud to have a loyal, steadfast and like-minded friend, comrade and brother of Laos. The attainments that the Lao people have achieved under the wise leadership of the LPRP not only hold profound significance to the Lao revolutionary cause but also serve as a great source of encouragement and motivation for the Party, State and people of Vietnam in the national struggle, construction, defense and development.
Congratulating the significant achievements that Laos has made over the past glorious seven decades, the Party, State and people of Vietnam strongly believe that, promoting the traditions and accomplishments and being soundly directed by the LPRP, the Lao people will continue to obtain many new and greater achievements, successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, united, fair, civilized and prosperous Laos according to the goal of socialism. May the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos which is “deeper than the Red and Mekong rivers” continue to blossom and bear sweet fruit, be forever “stronger than mountains and rivers," and “brighter than the full moon, more fragrant than the most fragrant flower.”
