Jointly organized by the Vietnamese and Cambodian Ministries of National Defense and other ministries, VIDEX 2023 takes place from October 25 to 29 at the Koh Pich Island Convention and Exhibition Center in Phnom Penh. The event attracts 150 Vietnamese and Cambodian units and businesses with more than 200 booths introducing technological machinery, robots, specialized drones, industrial equipment, agricultural machinery, textiles, footwear, electronics, household electrical appliances, construction materials, handicrafts, and consumer goods.
In his opening speech, Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San affirmed that friendship, neighboring relations, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia have been constantly strengthened. Together with strengthening high-level relations, the two countries have paid special attention to promoting people-to-people diplomacy and trade promotion activities, considering it a solid foundation to bridge and strengthen investment cooperation and deepen the traditional friendship.
Gen. San affirmed that defense ties continue to be one of the important pillars in the Vietnam - Cambodia relations, and the two militaries have closely coordinated and effectively carried out the cooperation in multilateral forums, overcome the consequences of bombs and mines left from the war, and participated in socio-economic development, contributing to helping each country build a strong military; safeguard national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity; and maintain a peaceful, stable, and developed environment.
“I believe that the event will contribute to further promoting friendly exchanges; cultivating solidarity, traditional relationship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states, and peoples to a new height; bringing new opportunities for businesses of the two countries to meet and promote joint venture cooperation and transfer and application of new scientific and technological advances to socio-economic development...," said Deputy Defense Minister Vu Hai San.

For his part, Cambodian Secretary of State of National Defense General Neang Phat highlighted the time-honored relationship between the two countries. Regarding defense ties, the Cambodian diplomat said that the Ministries of National Defense of Cambodia and Vietnam have taken the diplomatic relations between the two countries as an important factor in protecting political stability, peace, and security in each country, and paid great attention to expanding solidarity, friendship, cooperation and good neighborliness between the two countries, building a shared border of peace, stability, cooperation, and development to facilitate trade exchange of people in both sides.
On the occasion, the organizing panel presented gifts to 30 policy households in Cambodia.
VIDEX 2023 also features a seminar, titled "Promoting trade cooperation and connection between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2023," with the participation of representatives of 150 Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses; a seminar on logistics hosted by Saigon Newport Corporation with the participation of 120 businesses from both countries, and trade connection programs on the Videx.vn platform.
