SHB launches its second branch in Laos
PANO – The Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank has launched its second branch in Laos, as part of the efforts in realizing its development strategy.
The debut of its first branch in Laos’ Savannakhet province marked SHB’s impressive achievements in the “land of million elephants” and contributed to raising the bank’s position and prestige in both domestic and international markets.

Savannakhet is the second largest administrative and economic hub in Laos, after Vientiane. Located in the Central region of Laos, Savannakhet possesses strengths to promote trade with Thailand and Vietnam and other Lao localities.
In the integration process, the province is evaluated as one of the fastest developing locality with many effective businesses operating in agricultural processing and rubber.
Director General of SHB in Laos Vu Anh Tuan said that with large population and huge consumption demand, Savannakhet is a great market, affirming that the branch will apply international standard services and strictly abide by Laos’ laws.
SHB has so far been among the two Vietnamese joint stock commercial banks with their subsidiaries in the country. SHB subsidiary in Laos has charter capital of LAK 404.92 billion (more than USD 47 million), and has 2,500 Lao individuals and businesses as its clients.
