PANO – The Binh Phuoc provincial People’s Committee on September 21 launched a groundbreaking ceremony for upgrading National Highway No.13 running through Loc Tan T-junction to the Hoa Lu International Border Gate in the province’s Loc Ninh district.
It will cost VND 450 billion to build and is 12.5km long road with a designed maximum speed of 80km per hour. The road surface and sidewalk from the Loc Tan T-junction to the Hoa Lu International Border Gate economic area is about 24m wide and a section of the road in the economic area is 48m wide.

As scheduled, the upgrading work will be completed by early 2022. It will promote trade with Cambodia and Binh Phuoc’s neighboring provinces in the Southern region.
The project is being invested by the management board of provincial construction investment.
With a full length of more than 140km, National Highway No.13 starts from km 0, located in Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City, crosses Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces and ends at the Hoa Lu International Border Gate.
Reportedly, a part of National Highway No.13 from Loc Tan commune (Binh Phuoc) to Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh City has been upgraded. Nevertheless, the road surface from Loc Tan T-junction to the Hoa Lu International Border Gate is currently in a bad condition while its capacity does not meet the increasing demand of traffic and goods transportation to the Hoa Lu International Border Gate.
