PM Phuc welcomed all delegates to Vietnam to attend ASEANAPOL 39.

During the meeting, PM Phuc said that the situations in the region and the world have become more complex in the face of the 4.0 industrial revolution. What is more, the Vietnamese PM went on, non-traditional security threats, transnational crimes, high-tech crimes and cyber crimes continuously increased, which has left comprehensive impacts on various countries, including ASEAN countries.

In this circumstance, PM Phuc suggested that regional countries’ law enforcement forces should promote cooperation and coordination to ensure national security, social order and safety for their own country as well as for the region.

PM Phuc also highlighted that, over the past 40 years, the ASEANAPOL has played an increasingly important role and contributed to international cooperation in crime prevention and control and peace in the region.

He urged ASEANAPOL members to promote exchange of information and cooperate with one another in investigating transnational cases and hunting for runaway criminals.

PM Phuc also asked the ASEANAPOL’s leaders to promote their police forces’ cooperation with the UN, the INTERPOL and agencies in charge of prevention and control of transnational crimes.
