Gen. The report also states that Thailand is one of the 20 countries with high capacities in innovation development.

The Prime Minister said the government has been giving priority on the development of necessary infrastructure for the development of innovations and advanced technology, promoting and protecting the use of intellectual property in commercial purposes with prevention measures against infringement, providing more budgets for research and development, as well as integrating cooperation between government agencies, private firms, and educational institutes.

Gen. Prayut stressed the necessity for Thai people to learn about innovation development using sciences, technology, and creativity according to the market demands in order to deliver products and services that meet the needs of customers. He said researchers should focus on measures to help low-income persons, such as the improvement of the farming system to yield fewer, but pricier harvests instead of focusing on maximising the quantity.
