APEC 2017: Da Nang holds emergency responding drill
The Ministry of Health and the Health Department of the Central city of Da Nang on October 25 held a drill on responses to emergency cases in preparation for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week that is slated for Da Nang in November.
The exercise aimed to strengthen the Da Nang-based health sector’s management and steering capacity and performance in dealing with emergency cases as well as its pro-activeness and coordination.
Health experts asked medical chiefs to be posted at revenues of APEC activities to proactively design specific plans to deal with injuries, explosions, mass poisoning incidents, and disasters.
Nguyen Tan Hai, Vice Director of the Da Nang Health Department said that the agency has formed 23 emergency teams to serve the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, targeting different groups. Of which, 17 teams will be stationed in hotels where senior officials stay, while two teams will serve business partners, two for the media staff, one for the organizing staff and one for flight crews.
Alongside, nine standby teams have also been set up in different health care facilities across Da Nang with full equipment and vehicles as well as staff to international standards.
