For his part, Le Hong Ha, Executive Vice-President of Vietnam Airlines, said, "We are deeply honored to receive these two noble awards. In 2016, Vietnam Airlines won two prizes namely Asia’s Leading Airline (Economy Class) and Asia’s Cultural Airline. I would like to express my gratitude to our customers for their trust in us and the efforts of our staff in order to help Vietnam Airlines achieve the good results".

In 2017, Vietnam Airlines is ranked among the top 20 premium economy class airlines in the world by Skytrax. The national flag carrier has also provided premium economy class flights on international air routes to France, the UK, and Germany and will continue to improve and expand the services on routes to Australia and Japan as of January 1, 2018. Cabin size increases on the premium economy class service provides passengers with convenience and comfort as the new generation Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 offer large seats with a width of between 46cm and 51cm.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 with the aim to honor the best company products and services across all sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. It is considered one of the most prestigious prizes in the travel and tourism industry.
