The Hanoi Flag Tower is a representative site within the complex of relics belonging to the World Heritage Site of the Central Sector of the Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel. It is not only a distinctive architectural work and a valuable military structure, but also a historical monument closely associated with the history of the capital and the nation.

Standing steadfast through time, the Hanoi Flag Tower has borne witness to significant historical moments, embodying the spirit of resistance, the will for independence, and the aspiration for freedom of the people of Hanoi in particular and of the entire country in general.

The experiential tour “Memories of the Flag Tower” opens with a welcoming artistic program featuring songs about Hanoi and the Fatherland, creating a solemn and emotionally rich atmosphere in the space in front of the Flag Tower. The ceremonial touchscreen activation to inaugurate the program marked the official launch of the tourism product “Memories of the Flag Tower.”

Immediately following the launch ceremony, delegates and guests directly experienced the “Memories of the Flag Tower” tourism product. The experiential itinerary includes visiting the Hanoi Flag Tower along a themed route, exploring its architectural levels (levels 1, 2 and 3) and taking photographs at highlighted points along the route; visiting the exhibition space “The Hanoi Flag Tower and the Aspiration for Peace,” which helps visitors gain a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural values and symbolic significance of the site; and enjoying a multimedia performance themed “Sketching the Essence of Hanoi,” among other activities.

Through this series of activities, the tourism product “Memories of the Flag Tower” aims to recount the historical story of the Hanoi Flag Tower through an experiential narrative, combining tangible heritage, art, technology and tourism services. The initiative contributes to renewing approaches to heritage interpretation, particularly for young people and visitors.

The launch of “Memories of the Flag Tower” represents a concrete step in the strategy to promote the value of the Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel heritage site, linking conservation with sustainable tourism development, and gradually transforming the heritage site into a living cultural space in contemporary life.
