On January 11th, South African Airways announced that it has assigned the East Sea Air Travel as its agent in Vietnam and planned to work with local travel agencies to carry Vietnamese passengers to South Africa and Africa.

Lucian Hsing, Sales-Director of South African Airways in Southeast Asia, said that Vietnam is a potential market. At present, the airline operates no direct flight to Vietnam, so passengers from Hanoi or HCMC will take flights on its partners to Hong Kong, and then continue with South African Airways.

Pham Van Phu, Sales-Director of South African Airways in Vietnam, said that South Africa is a new attractive destination for Vietnamese tourists with its various beautiful resorts, nature discovery, adventurous and cultural travels.

Also, East Sea will work with Vietnamese travel agencies to create many tours for Vietnamese tourists to discover South Africa.

Thai Airways and Malaysia Airlines currently carry Vietnamese passengers to South Africa in transit in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and other cities.
