Son Tay starts Tourism Year 2024

Delegates launch the Son Tay Tourism Year 2024.

Son Tay boasts rich and diverse tangible and intangible cultural heritage, an encouraging source for tourism development. Its two tourist sites recognized by the Hanoi People’s Committee are Duong Lam ancient village and Long Ho village (Kim Son commune).

This year, Son Tay town will focus on upgrading its infrastructure, creating thematic streets to attract more tourists in order to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector. It will give priority to promoting Duong Lam and Long Ho village tourist sites, taking their advantages of historical and cultural heritage, trade villages, and landscapes. In addition, the town will expand the space of the Son Tay pedestrian street, and open typical food street.

Individuals with outstanding achievements in developing local culture, arts, economy and tourism in 2023 are honored.

Poor households receive gifts ahead of the New Year.

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai emphasized that the city’s hope that Son Tay tourism will reap more achievements in the coming time, importantly contributing to Hanoi’s socio-economic development, improvement of local people’s living standard, and the building of Hanoi, a global city with harmonious development, elegance, peace and prosperity.

At the event, the town honored 19 individuals with outstanding achievements in cultural, arts, economic, tourism development in 2023.

Fifty gifts were also presented to local poor and disadvantaged households ahead of the New Year.
