Over VND 3 trillion tourism complex to be built in Thua Thien-Hue
The Central province of Thua Thien-Hue is expected to house a high-end tourism complex worth over VND 3.06 trillion (USD 131 million).
The provincial People’s Committee has issued a decision on the investment plan of the project, to be built in Vinh Hien and Loc Binh communes, Phu Loc district.
The project, with Van Phu Resort-Loc Binh Ltd., Co. as the main investor, is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2023, offering services of international standards.
Thua Thien-Hue, which is home to many UNESCO-recognized tangible and intangible heritages as well as beautiful beaches, aims to attract about 4.7 million visitors in 2019, with 45 percent foreigners, a rise of about 7 percent year on year.
The province targets VND 4.9 trillion (USD 210.7 million) in tourism revenue in the year, up 10 percent compared to the previous year.
In 2018, Thua Thien-Hue welcomed more than 4.3 million visitors, a rise of 14 percent, with the number of foreign visitors up 30 percent. Tourism revenue reached VND 4.47 trillion (USD 192 million), up 27.1 percent against 2017. Notably, Thua Thien-Hue was chosen as one of the most attractive destinations of Vietnam.
