PANO – 200 domestic and international travel agencies from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam took part in the first festival for cruise ships dressed up with colouful lights, themed “Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City”, on Sai Gon River on September 9th.
Organised by the Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event with various activities, such as a canoe and cruise parades, art performances and laser lighting show is to introduce the city’s potentials to develop waterway tourism sector and its tourism products to international travel agencies and businesses.
Deputy Chairwoman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong said that the city has paid attention to building waterway tourism as its key tourism product and the festival demonstrated the city’s activities to achieve the target.
