HCMC carries out measures to develop tourism
Ho Chi Minh City’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, and the city’s Tourism Association yesterday organised a conference to come up with measures to further develop tourism in 2009.
Ho Chi Minh City’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department, and the city’s Tourism Association yesterday organised a conference to come up with measures to further develop tourism in 2009.
The department also launched a programme entitled “100 Interesting Things in HCMC” to introduce and promote the outstanding tourism products and services of the city, as well as improve the city’s image among international tourists.
To do this, the city will continue to improve the quality of present tourism products, and will also step by step introduce new tourism products and services.
The city is currently striving to attract at least three million international tourists for the whole of 2009.
La Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department said that his department is focusing on three immediate tasks, the implementing of the programme “Impressive Vietnam”, launched by the Vietnam Tourism General Department, carrying out the programme “100 Interesting Things in HCMC” and informing the targeted groups in and outside the country about the programmes.
