PANO - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on July 22nd offered incense to ten female volunteers who had scarified their lives at very young ages for the national independence at the Dong Loc T-junction Historic Relic in Dong Loc commune, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province.

The official also visited and presented gifts to five families of the fallen female volunteers.

* The same day, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan met with revolution contributors in the Northern province of Ha Nam.

She praised the considerable contributions of local heroes, war invalids and martyrs to the national construction and defence cause, and then granted gifts to 10 heroic Vietnamese mothers and 70 war veterans in the province.

* The Military Zone 9 Command paid visits to and inquired after the health of wounded soldiers under treatment in its Military Hospitals 120 and 121, as well as sent representatives to grant gifts to the Convalescent Centres for War Invalids in Duy Tien and Thuan Thanh districts of Ha Nam province, and Long Dat district of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

* A delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Sy Thang, Political Commissar of Military Zone 1, handed over a gratitude house to Mr. Vu Dinh Long in Le Vien commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province.

Long is father of martyr Vu Van Thanh, who had sacrificed his life on the battlefield in 1978.

Besides this, they also visited centres for war invalids in the province.

* Bac Lieu province has spent VND 10 billion to take care of local policy beneficiaries on the 68th anniversary of the War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27th).

* Thua Thien-Hue province has held a ceremony to bestow and posthumously bestow the title “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 176 local women, and hand over the Independence Order to 28 families who rendered good services to the nation.

* People and authorities of Thuy Loi commune, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province, held a burial service for two martyrs who had laid their lives in the national war against American invaders.

* Military Hospital 7 of Military Zone 3 provided free check-ups, medicines and gifts for more than 400 policy beneficiaries and revolution contributors in three communes of Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh province.

* The Hanoi branch of the military-run telecom group Viettel laid a wreath at the Ngoc Hoi martyrs’ cemetery in Ngu Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district.

* A mission of the People’s Army Newspaper presented essential gifts to the Phat Tich Nursing Home for the Elderly and Young Talents in Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province.
