Meanwhile, on October 20, the committee sent two working delegations to support flood-hit victims in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
Earlier, the Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee also donated nearly VND 2 billion to the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Thua Thien - Hue.
Also on October 19, the committee launched a ceremony to mobilize its staff to bring support to the victims.
In Quang Tri province, a delegation of the committee provided 10,000 boxes of drinking water, 7,000 boxes of instant noodles, and other necessities to severely-hit areas such as Cam Lo, Gio Linh, Hai Lang, Trieu Phong, Vinh Linh, Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts, Dong Ha city and Quang Tri town.
From October 9 to 16, the provincial Red Cross Society in coordination with local authorities handed over 500 boxes of instant noodles and necessities to severely-stricken families in Quang Binh province.
In Quang Nam province, the organization visited flood-hit households and donated cash to help them soon resume their normal lives.
In Thua Thien - Hue, they assisted 8,716 people with over VND 1 billion.
Until now, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has donated a total of VND 4.5 billion to flood-hit victims in the Central region.
