The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour’s Chairman (GCL) Dang Ngoc Tung and Laos Labour Federation Central’s Chairman (LFC) Vongphet Xay Keuachongtua recently inked a cooperative Memory of Understanding for the period of 2008 – 2012 in Hanoi.
The two sides have agreed to join hands in training cadres, supporting the infrastructure construction for the cadre training work in Laos, training professionals for Hengan newspaper’s correspondents (newspaper of the LFC), exchanging cadres at all levels and carrying out international activities.
In addition, GCL has pledged to support LFC in constructing a training centre for labour union cadres.
Under the agreement, the two sides will exchange delegations once every two years to strengthen the cooperation between labour union organisations at branch and local level in the two countries.
